BUYER PLANNING NOTES

Define what must be dosed

Write down the product name, fill quantity and its unit, operating temperature, and any known viscosity, particles or foaming behavior. Do not select a dosing method from the product name alone. Ask the manufacturer which product samples and measurements are needed to assess the application. A liquid beverage, a thick cream and a powder should not share an assumed filling specification.

Match the container and closure

Provide the opening diameter, height range, stability and intended closure of each container. Specify whether the project includes only filling or also container feeding, capping, checking and discharge. Ask who supplies format parts and how a change between your smallest and largest package will be demonstrated.

Agree on a sample trial

Request a trial plan using your product and containers. Agree on the measurement method, acceptable fill variation, test duration and treatment of rejects before comparing quotations. Ask how start-up, stoppages, cleaning and product changeovers affect usable output. Record the proposed method and remaining unknowns in the sourcing brief rather than treating a catalogue maximum as a verified result.
