HGM Semi-Automatic Two-Station Keg Filler
HGM's semi-automatic keg filler has two filling stations. Each keg is placed by hand, then filled under CO2 counterpressure with PLC control, a display and flow measurement. HGM gives 60 kegs/hour as the rate with 30-litre kegs and accepts kegs from 17 to 58 litres, 250–420 mm across and 270–570 mm tall. It suits breweries that already wash kegs and want a compact filling station. Send keg drawings, fitting details and beverage conditions to get a matched offer from HGM.

What the keg filler does
The HGM two-station keg filler is a semi-automatic machine for breweries. Once an operator has set a keg in place, the machine fills it under CO2 counterpressure; a PLC with a display and flow measurement controls the cycle. Its rated output is 60 kegs/hour with 30-litre kegs, and HGM lists kegs of 17–58 litres, 250–420 mm in diameter and 270–570 mm tall. It suits a brewery that washes kegs on another machine and wants an operator-run filling station with a small footprint. [2]
Specifications

| Parameter | HGM figure | Check for your kegs |
|---|---|---|
| Output | 60 kegs/hour with 30-litre kegs | The rate at your own keg volume |
| Keg volume | 17–58 litres | Output at the sizes you fill most |
| Keg diameter | 250–420 mm | Drawings and physical samples |
| Keg height | 270–570 mm | How handles and fittings count in the height |
| Stations | Two | Which steps the operator still does |
The 60 kegs/hour figure is HGM's rating for the whole machine, so both stations are already counted in it. Ask HGM to state the keg, product and station sequence behind the rate it quotes you. [2]
Fittings and washing
Keg volume and outside size tell you nothing about the fitting. Send the fitting standard, the keg maker's drawing and sample kegs. Have every coupler and change part listed in the quotation, with a note on whether other keg families need a separate setup.
The product page address mentions keg cleaning, while the product description covers filling. Decide early who washes and prepares the kegs. If your plant already delivers clean kegs, describe their condition on arrival and how they reach the filler. If you need a washer too, get its own specification and an interface plan that covers chemicals, wash cycles and the checks after washing.
Beverage and supply
Send your beverage details and describe how product comes to the filler from the tank. HGM describes counterpressure filling as the method. Pressure settings, carbonation and oxygen pickup then have to be set and measured for your product, your kegs and your installation.
Operator steps and real output
Ask HGM to show the full cycle: loading, connection, start, end of fill, disconnection and removal. Mark which steps are manual and ask what stops an incomplete or badly connected keg from going on to storage. [2]
A fair output test includes the operator's work and the way kegs arrive and leave. Timing only the fill itself leaves out the handling that sets your real hourly count. Fix the staffing level, run for an agreed time and count accepted full kegs. If you are choosing between kegs and cans, run the same count on the canning option; the JKM micro canning line has no published throughput table to compare against.
Acceptance tests
Swipe or scroll the table to compare all columns.
| Test topic | What to ask HGM for |
|---|---|
| Fill quantity | Results with your keg, your product and an agreed measuring method |
| Fitting connection | A connection demonstration and leak checks on your fittings |
| Product condition | Checks chosen for your beverage, with limits you set together |
| Interrupted supply or incomplete cycle | The machine's response and how affected kegs are marked |
| Changeover | Parts, adjustments and the check before restart |
| Cleaning and maintenance | Written procedures and access for the machine as supplied |
Set the pass limits and safe working procedures together with HGM. File the machine settings and its revision with the acceptance record so the record matches the filler you receive.
Settle before signing
Have HGM state each of these in its written offer:
- that your keg fitting works with the offered couplers, backed by a connection test;
- the utilities the delivered machine needs;
- the quality checks for your beverage and their limits;
- whether any keg washing is in scope;
- current price, lead time and service terms.
Put these points into a dated quotation request before you compare HGM with other suppliers.

Buyer questions
Is this a fully automatic keg line?
HGM describes a semi-automatic two-station filler with an operator handling kegs. A fully automatic line would need extra equipment, each part specified separately. [2]
Will any keg inside the size range fit?
Size is only the first screen. Send the fitting type and keg drawings so HGM can confirm the connection and keg support.
Does counterpressure filling give a set carbonation level?
HGM describes the method. Request a measured carbonation result from a trial with your own beer or drink.
