BUYER PLANNING NOTES
Start with the container drawing
Identify the intended material, finished container geometry, neck or opening, and dimensional requirements. Explain whether the project starts from sheet, preforms or another supplied input. Container forming covers different processes; a machine name alone is insufficient to determine compatibility. Ask the manufacturer to state the proposed process and the input it requires.
Separate tooling from machine scope
List each container size and ask whether tooling, change parts and their design work are included. Request a clear explanation of which dimensions can be changed through settings and which require different tooling. Confirm who supplies material samples and who is responsible for approving the final container design.
Evaluate samples and supporting equipment
Agree how sample containers will be checked and how compatibility with filling, closing or downstream handling will be confirmed. Ask for the required utilities, auxiliary equipment, footprint and installation conditions for the proposed configuration. Discuss scrap handling, start-up and format changes when defining usable output. Keep any unverified material or performance claim marked as a question until supporting evidence is available.
