BUYER PLANNING NOTES
Pair each label with its container
Prepare a format list showing container shape, dimensions and intended label position. Include real container and label samples where possible. State whether a single label, front and back labels, a wraparound label or another format is required. Ask which format parts and applicators are included for each combination.
Agree on placement and data handling
Define the acceptable label position using a drawing and an agreed measurement method. Explain whether labels arrive preprinted or need variable information added during production. Ask how artwork changes, roll replacement and coding interfaces are managed. Avoid treating a proposed inspection device as proof that every label defect will be detected.
Review samples and line conditions
Ask for a trial with your label material and actual containers, including any relevant surface condition. Review placement, wrinkles, lifting edges and handling after application against agreed criteria. Discuss start-stop operation, gaps between containers, rejects and changeovers. The required output should name the container and label format so competing quotations address the same job.
