Wolf EPS Twin Integrated Weigher, Bagger and Metal Detector System
The EPS Twin is Wolf Hangzhou's integrated vertical packaging system for small and medium bags. It brings an EPS bagger, a multihead weigher and a metal detector together in one system, with servo drives coordinating film forming, filling and sealing. Wolf describes gentle handling of the product. It suits granular or piece products that need weighing and metal inspection before the bag closes. Wolf's page gives no output figure, bag-size range or lane count, so send your product and bag drawing and ask Wolf to quote the rate, sizes and layout for your job.

EPS Twin at a glance
The EPS Twin is a vertical bagging system for small and medium bag formats. Wolf integrates three machines in it: an EPS bagger, a multihead weigher and a metal detector. Servo drives coordinate film forming, sealing and filling. It fits granular or piece products where weight control and metal inspection have to happen in the same run as bag making. Wolf publishes no throughput, bag-size range, weighing tolerance or detector sensitivity, so those figures come from the quotation. [1]
How the system fits together
Swipe or scroll the table to compare all columns.
| Section | What Wolf describes | What to agree for your order |
|---|---|---|
| Film forming and sealing | Servo-driven motion | Bag geometry, film structure, seal type and motion sequence |
| Weighing | Multihead weigher as part of the system | Weigher arrangement, target quantity and trial criteria |
| Metal detection | Integrated detector | Detector position, test pieces, settings and reject handling |
| Product handling | Gentle treatment of the product | Damage rate measured on your own product |
| Output | No rate published | Good packages per minute at your bag format and fill quantity |
The right-hand column is a list of contract items. A quotation can carry a different scope from the catalogue picture, so check each unit against the priced schedule. Wolf's VCI series takes the other route: the weigher is one of four feeder choices sitting above a stand-alone bagger, and filling begins after each bottom seal.
The Twin name tells you nothing about lanes. Before you put this system next to a twin-lane machine, get a layout showing the number of forming tubes, weigher discharge routes and independently driven packing stations.
From weigher discharge to a sealed bag
For granules or pieces, ask Wolf to walk you through the path from weigher discharge to finished bag. In the trial, check three things: each dose lands in the correct bag, nothing hangs up in the transfer section, and the seal area stays clean enough to seal. Wolf's page does not describe how doses are tracked, so make these points part of acceptance. Zhongheng splits the same duties in its own range, with the multihead weigher doing the portioning and the vertical bagger making the bag, which shows why the handover between them deserves its own drawing.
Metal detection and rejects
Detecting metal is one step; handling the reject is the rest of the job. Agree which bag or product stream gets rejected, how the operator confirms a rejection, and what the line does when the reject bin is full or missing. Ask for a written test procedure and safe operating instructions. Request the detector make, its sensitivity for your product and the reject device in the quotation, because the product page names a detector and nothing more. [1]
Gentle handling, tested on your product
Wolf says the system treats product gently but gives no damage figure. If breakage hurts sales, send representative samples so the demonstration runs on your product. Agree how damage is graded, and measure the incoming product first so that breakage already in the feed is kept out of the result.
Take samples after the weigher and from finished bags. Compare them at your fill quantity and production setting. Include a restart after a stoppage, because product that queues during a stop can break in ways a smooth continuous run hides.
Layout and supply scope
Ask for a general arrangement drawing showing the weigher platform, the bagger, the detector, and the access and removal space around them. Judge maintenance access on the full integrated layout, which needs more room than the bare bagger footprint. Wolf's page gives no dimensions, floor loads, utility connections or cleaning access.
Put one responsibility matrix in the contract naming who supplies the control links, the mechanical supports and the commissioning of the assembled system. If you plan to keep an existing weigher or detector, say so in the inquiry and ask Wolf to confirm it can connect.
Confirm before ordering
Ask Wolf to confirm in writing:
- whether the multihead weigher and detector are in the quoted price or listed as options;
- the lane count and delivered equipment, on a signed layout;
- food-contact, hygienic-design and detector test documents that apply to your plant.

Frequently asked questions
Is the multihead weigher included in the price?
Wolf presents the EPS Twin as an integrated system with a weigher, but its product page is a catalogue entry. Ask for an itemized schedule showing which units are supplied, reused or optional. [1]
Does Twin mean double the output?
Wolf states neither a lane count nor an output. Compare accepted output that you watch under the same test conditions on each machine you shortlist.
Does the EPS Twin come with food-safety or detector certificates?
The product page lists none. Ask Wolf for the documents your installation needs and check them as a separate step.
